Amoni's Flat Stanley visits Newark, New Jersey

Dear Class,

Hi!  I sure do miss everyone at Eastern Wayne Elementary School.  I am having a very nice visit with Amoni Ethridge’s grandfather, Alton Fields.

I have been very busy.  We have visited many places and the Fields family are making me feel very welcome in their home.

I am visiting the town of Newark, New Jersey.  It is a very nice place.  We have visited the Prudential Center in downtown Newark, it is the home where the New Jersey Devil’s hockey team.  We went to Newark City Hall, The Courthouse, Essex County College, New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT, ranked one of the best colleges in New Jersey), New Jersey Performing Arts Center, (that’s were many celebrities like, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keyes, Gladys Knight, Pattie LaBelle, etc. have performed and many great orchestras), Alex Haley dance school performed there, and many comedy shows.  We stayed at the Showboat casino in Atlantic City.  We went to the Crossings Outlet Mall in Pennsylvania located in the Poconos area.

I can’t wait to get back to E.W.E. and see all my friends.

Love,
Stanley
