Note from April 21, 2013
Hi kids!
It's about time to come back home but we have a few more adventures.
I finally got to ride with Brendan's granddad on his coach bus. He
took a bunch of kids to a soccer game. It was cold and windy outside so
we stayed on the bus most of the time. It is really neat to ride right
up front in Granddad's bus!
Today Aunt Heather and I went to the farm because Joseph wanted us to
come see the tractors but when we got there he was in a bad mood so his
dad, James, (Brendan's dad's cousin) showed us the tractor, the combine, and the four wheeler. They have big equipment that all gets used when
they plant corn and soy beans in the spring and harvest them in the
fall. However, there has been a LOT of rain here so they haven't
started planting here -- too muddy. Did you know soy beans are not
green beans? They are used as the best source of protein for vegetarian
people. It is used as a bean, used to substitute meat, extract oil,
extract milk, and used to make yogurts. They are also used to make candles,
fibre, used in paints, in beauty products, and also in making furniture!
Another name for soy beans is Edamame.
Also, I talked to Brendan on the phone.
So long for now. See you soon.
